Hello everyone! Today was a rainy one so we spent most of it inside. In the Big Room we made play dough with Pickett, played kitty cats, built legos with Jose and stacked blocks with Melissa.
In the back, we swung, finger painted, and built a rocket ship.
Me made it outside for a few minutes for a much needed energy release!
Here's hoping for sunny and 75 degrees tomorrow!

A gorgeous, sunny day on Varnum St....
The purple group went to Upshur playground and had a wonderful time. Afterwards, they played in the back, jumping and dressing up and taking care of the eggs (5 more days until they hatch!)
Everyone else spent the morning out in the side yard, planting lettuce seeds, tasting mint, and playing ponies and butterflies and worm houses.
Mareike (Jamie's au pair) taught everyone about Germany and common butterflies in her home town. She gave each child a paper butterfly to decorate and these were a big hit for the whole day.

Monday, May 11th
We had a great day today - we managed to get some outside time in between the raindrops. The red and purple group went out in the side yard to do some planting. We watched caterpillars for awhile, played in the sandbox, and had a game of duck-duck-goose. The blue and purple group had lots of activity in the courtyard including a stock car race, bus rides, and a drive-thru restaurant. Inside Natasha was helping kids make t-shirts for the auction. We also played a long game of school with cirlce time, field trips, and swimming and pillow fights and ball games.

Today at ALG, we took advantage of the nice weather and had an all-day, free-for-all patio party in the courtyard. We rode tricycles, pretended to be dinosaurs and dolphins, and drew a whole city with sidewalk chalk. We painted the flagstones with water, sold pretend ice cream, and ate a picnic lunch. And then we tucked white blossoms behind our ears and danced to Marvin Gaye and the Stones. I don't know what your morning was like, but I guarantee it wasn't half as much fun as ours.

Tuesday, May 5th- Rain, rain go away already......we were inside until the morning chill faded. The yellow group played in the backroom while other groups enjoyed the big space. Deborah announced the parting of the clouds and everyone headed outside. We painted, rode, chalked(?), and let off at great big puff of steam. The red group went on an urban hike (also known as a walk). They enjoyed spying cats, flowers, crumbling walls and the big dig in someones backyard. Everyone dined al fresco under the greening trees.......we just enjoyed being out!
